Job Description

Partners Capital Investment Group is a global outsourced investment office seeking a talented Principal to join our newly established West Coast team, located in San Francisco. The Investment Principal will be a part of a diverse group that now requires an additional experienced team player who will have wide-ranging, client-facing responsibilities.

This multi-faceted role requires someone who is comfortable in our entrepreneurial environment as we develop our business, combined with analytical and creative strengths required to implement our investment strategy. Meticulous attention to detail, ability to think critically, resourcefulness, and an execution-oriented, positive attitude are key attributes. Superior oral and written communication skills are required; our team members need to be comfortable and confident interacting with business leaders and sophisticated asset managers.

Client Portfolio Management (50%): Function as a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for your clients. Develop investment strategy by leveraging firm insights and applying them to both day-to-day portfolio management and more formal client presentation. Provide general financial advice on topics including (but not limited to) estate planning, charitable giving and external investment opportunities. A key focus will be on team development, managing, developing and mentoring junior team members who will support you in a range of responsibilities.

Business Development (40%): Core focus on building our business and brand on the West Coast, requiring an entrepreneurial attitude regarding all aspects of marketing and sales. Involvement in business development process from start to finish, including researching, identifying, and tracking prospective clients. Innovating new lines of business.

Investment Research (10%): Occasionally accountable for the investment due diligence process including sourcing and monitoring new investments and leading initial meetings in the research process.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in asset management, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field. The candidate is expected to have an undergraduate degree from a top institution alongside a strong record of academic achievement and an MBA or CFA is preferred, but not essential.

Our salary and benefits package is competitive and includes a base salary, a performance-based cash bonus and a deferred compensation program directly linked to firm profitability, designed to support retention and incentivize long-term employees.
