Senior Associate, Private Fund Structuring


Position Description

The Senior Associate on the Investment Research Operations team located in Boston will be responsible for supporting the product lifecycle management of the Partners Capital private funds. There is currently $13 billion+ AUM within 70+ multi-asset class private funds, and the Senior Associate will be responsible for projects associated with these existing funds and new funds that are launched annually. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in fund operations for private equity and hedge funds. The successful applicant should be ready for wide ranging responsibilities in multiple areas and will be expected to be flexible and willing to contribute to the Firm’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee fund launches, including coordinating with internal legal, compliance, private fund operations, investment teams and external legal counsel.
  • Act as a project leader and contributor for strategic and tactical projects related to fund restructurings, including re-domiciliations and opening funds to subscriptions from external investors.
  • Ensure our internal systems are setup and reporting is established for each new fund.
  • Manage the lending facility set up, syndication, and renewal process for private funds.
  • Oversee and manage the Board of Directors and all associated meetings and communications.
  • Work with the Private Equity and Private Fund Operations teams to manage the secondary sale and winddown process for older vintage funds.

Qualifications / Attributes

As a fast growing, 280+ person company, we seek someone who is dynamic, detail oriented, driven and comfortable managing multiple tasks at once. The candidate must possess an outstanding track record of accomplishments and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or another related area.
  • Four+ years’ experience working in private equity funds, preferably with fund administration, fund management or custodial relationships.
  • Experience with fund and management structuring, secondary sales, and/or board of directors governance.
  • Familiarity with Private Equity fund operations and fund lifecycle.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort with data analysis and strong technical acumen, specifically in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with PowerBI or other visualization tools a plus.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, anticipates what should be done to drive the business forward.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and take responsibility for all aspects of a task.  
  • Inclusive team player who is comfortable working in an entrepreneurial company.

Key responsibilities may be assessed and are subject to change from time to time based on the needs of the business. The individual may be required to work overtime as needed.
