In Memoriam:
Lord Jacob Rothschild, OM GBE CVO
(1936-2024)

We were all saddened at Partners Capital at the passing of Jacob Rothschild on 26 February 2024. He was a long-time shareholder, one of our most active advisors and an unwavering friend of the firm.

We were privileged for almost 20 years to benefit from his investment acumen which contributed greatly to the development of the successful institution we are today. Despite his passing, we retain a strong relationship with the Rothschild family through the Rothschild Foundation’s strategic shareholding in Partners Capital

Jacob’s success in business was extraordinary.  He founded Rothschild Investment Trust (RIT) Capital Partners, which he chaired for almost 40 years, served as the deputy chair of BskyB and as an International Advisory Board member of the Blackstone Group. He was also a devoted philanthropist, patron of the arts and major contributor to cultural life in the UK and Israel. He was the chair of the trustees of the National Gallery, the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Rothschild Foundation charity.

“Lord R” was an inspiration for us and an example of a purposeful life in the service of others.  We will miss him terribly. This came too early for him and for all of us.
