Role Description
Client Investment Strategy (60%): You will initially be allocated 12 to 15 investment portfolios which will cover a range of institutional and family office clients. The portfolios are largely managed on a full discretionary basis by teams of three to six people. The aim of the portfolio management team is to specify, develop and execute our clients’ investment strategies. This will involve, among other things, the settling of long-term asset allocating targets, the evaluation and selection of third-party investment managers, the design and oversight of derivative overlay strategies, the research and generation of tactical asset allocation ideas, and attendance at client meetings to report on investment performance and discuss investment strategy. We expect you to swiftly progress to the role of Investment Principal and will provide you with the support and training you need to make the transition.
Business Development (30%): You will assist with business development and support the other members of our Paris office as we strengthen and expand our business in continental Europe. In this respect, your role will be primarily focused on preparing pitch materials, mapping the prospective clients’ universe, carrying out market research and preparing reports which will help guide the team’s business development strategy, as well as then participating in pitch meetings.
Other (10%): Assisting with other projects within the business which could include recruiting, training, portfolio construction research, mentoring, team events, IT development, manager DD, or a project for the research team amongst other things.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team
• Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels
We are looking for an intellectually curious team player with a strong desire to further our reputation for excellence. You will have good problem-solving and interpersonal skills and thrive in a collaborative working environment. You need not have worked within the investment management industry, but you will have worked for one to two years in a professional services role (e.g., within management consulting, investment banking, or accounting) and have a passion for investing. You will have good capabilities in the Office Suite. As we are proponents of lifelong learning, you will be keen to commit to further professional development including the CFA qualification, which we will support. Working fluency in both French and English are required.
