Position Description

The Trade Operations Analyst located in Boston will work closely with senior members of the Trade Operations Team in supporting the firm’s clients and multi-asset class pooled vehicles through the completion of investment execution. The candidate will be responsible for investment execution across public and private markets, including but not limited to direct equities, mutual funds, hedge funds, and private equity funds. As key stakeholders of investment execution, Trade Operations team members are expected to have a high degree of attention to detail and understanding our execution policies and procedures.

The candidate will be an integral member of the global Client Operations Team, with broad scope for progression into multiple specialist functions within the team. The role has a wide-ranging responsibility and involves working with the Operations and Investment teams across all offices. The candidate should be hardworking and must be able to interact with colleagues and third parties, prioritizing and completing multiple tasks and meeting key investment deadlines.

Pooled Vehicle Support

  • Support the operational management of Partners Capital’s multi-asset class pooled vehicles
  • Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Management Teams and other stakeholders around execution plans
  • Prepare accurate trade instructions and documentation for alternative investment execution, wire transfers, and cash management
  • Liaise directly with custodians and fund administrators to process investment instructions and resolve queries to ensure trades are placed and settled in a timely manner
  • Support management of direct equities strategies for North American clients, including trade execution, allocations, and reconciliations. Support periodic strategy rebalancing and reconstitution processes.
  • Maintain the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system and update documentation records, specifically around AML/KYC

Investment Execution

  • Grasp a detailed understanding of alternative investment products, with specific attention paid to the terms of the funds (e.g. fee classes, minimums, fund notice periods, gates, lock up periods)
  • Prepare complete and accurate investment documentation for client and pooled vehicle execution (e.g. hedge fund subscription and redemption documents, brokerage applications)
  • Support Firm authorized traders in the execution of public markets (e.g. ETFs) and mutual fund transactions
  • Perform detailed reviews of execution instructions and investment documentation prepared by the Client Service Team
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded and tracked accurately using in-house systems

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with update and review of pooled vehicle performance reporting and balance sheets
  • Interface directly with client teams by providing high-level service on all execution inquiries

Key responsibilities will be regularly assessed and are subject to change from time to time based on the needs of the business. The individual may be required to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications / Attributes

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast- paced environment. The candidate must possess an outstanding track record of accomplishments and strong interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.

  • Up to 1 year prior work experience. Investment operations experience is preferred, but not required
  • Undergraduate degree (any field). Strong GPA and SAT scores
  • High degree of attention to detail and experience inputting and reviewing large sets of data
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
  • Articulate self-starter with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily workloads while working efficiently and accurately
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player who is willing to do whatever it takes to contribute to the success of the business
  • Comfortable receiving and providing feedback from/to direct manager and Partners
