Partners Capital Investment Committee Member Charter – Template for Endowments

No authors selected from the team

Every investment committee (“IC”) has an approved Investment Policy Statement. Nearly as important, every IC should have a contract with each IC member clearly specifying their role, responsibilities and tenure. We find this to be quite rare among endowment and foundation clients that we onboard as new clients. ICs are no different than a board of trustees, a board of directors or other governance body in terms of the benefits of clarifying roles or terms of engagement. The fact that IC members are often volunteers should not take away from the need for good governance. We have a standard template that we usually start with for IC members of a new IC client, that can be customized for any individual IC.
